Zeek Taylor is known for his stylized watercolors. Using a dry brush technique, he renders intimate detail rarely found in this medium. Taylor primarily works with transparent paint, but occasionally accents with gouache and metallic ink. Images are on acid free clayboard, a white clay-coated masonite panel that has greater strength and longevity than paper. Each piece is surrounded by a meticulously hand-painted border. Subject matter includes florals, still life, animals, and fantasy themes.
An Arkansas native, Taylor studied at Arkansas State University, Washington U, and the Memphis College of Art. He now works and lives in Eureka Springs, a resort town and artist colony in the Ozarks of Arkansas.
